Wildlife-Rich Habitat Fund

The Wildlife-Rich Habitat Fund is a Defra grant programme for people living or working within National Parks and National Landscapes. Projects must either:

  • Create a new wildlife-rich habitat (examples include heathland, ponds, traditional orchards, woodland, grassland and coastal habitats)
  • Restore a specific type of degraded habitat

The guidance below sets out the eligible types of habitats for both. The project cannot be within one of the following protected sites: SSSI, SAC, SPA or MCZ, and must be within, or of benefit to, Norfolk Coast National Landscape.

Applications for our area will be accepted between 26 May and 30 June 2026 at 23:59 and projects must be completed by the end of February 2027.  Please note, this is a competitive programme, therefore not all grant applications will be awarded.
