Access to nature
Long-term solutions
The Norfolk Coast Path National Trail team is working to improve accessibility and enhance the visitor experience at Beeston Bump and Skelding Hill (Sheringham).
What we’ve done so far
In January, we held a drop-in event in Sheringham, with over 50 people attending to learn more about the project and share their thoughts. The feedback we received was incredibly helpful and is already shaping ideas for this section of the Norfolk Coast Path.
Looking ahead
We are currently undertaking temporary repair work at Skelding Hill to improve access along this stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path while longer-term solutions are developed. As a result, access to this section of the path will be restricted from Saturday 7 March to Friday 27 March 2026. However, a diversion route will be in place, redirecting visitors to parts of the path that remain open. Please note that part of the diversion route will be closed from dusk until dawn, so we encourage you to plan ahead. See below for details.
