Chalk rivers

Norfolk is home to about 25 chalk rivers, which are so rare that there are only about 200 in the world. A number of these flow through Norfolk Coast National Landscape.

The following River Catchment documents, produced by the Norfolk Geodiversity Partnership, are a resource for educational and outreach work that describe the links between geodiversity and landscape in the areas of three chalk rivers – Stiffkey, Glaven and Babingley.

The State of the Environment Reports, produced by Norfolk Biodiversity Information Service, bring together key information about the environment of these river catchments, showcasing important sites, species, habitats, geology and historic features.

All the documents below were written in 2014.
